The University of the Visayas main campus in Cebu, Philippines plays host to The Philippine Choral Directors Association's National Masterclass Series for Choral Conductors which kicks off today November 19 and will run until Nov 22.

The Choral Conductors Masterclass is "a four-day immersion in the craft of conducting, the opportunity to raise standards to international levels, hands-on coaching on choral directing and management; and relevant, professional information from PCDA’s broad choral network"

The Masterclass is open to music supervisors, teachers, choir directors, conductors, coordinators, trainers, enthusiasts, and voice teachers from the Visayas and Mindanao.

Speakers will include UP College of Music Professor Eudenice Palaruan who was principal conductor of the now defunt San Miguel Master Chorale, UP Singinging Ambassadors Conductor Edgardo Manguiat, Anna Abeleda-Piquero, musical director of the University of the East Chorale and the University of the Visayas Chorale, and TIP Chorale conductor Leonyl Torres who is also the culture and arts director of the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
The masterclass will also feature performances by the Loboc Children’s Choir, the University of the East Chorale, the Mandaue Children’s Choir, Cebu Chamber Singers, Voice of Cebu and the University of Visayas Chorale.

The registration fee is P3,000 for PCDA members and P4,000 for non-PCDA members.
